Dr. Kathryn Berg dedicated her life to Southern Utah University Athletics in Cedar City. A champion of women's athletics from 1968 until her retirement in 2001, her contributions to SUU athletics are countless. Dr. Berg established SUU women's athletic programs and coached every woman's sport before moving on to dedicate her time as Associate Director of Athletics. As Associate AD, she helped oversee the University's advancement from a small NAIA institution to a viable NCAA Division 1 competitor, and helped develop the infrastructure necessary for that transition. She also served on the prestigious NCAA Management Council, where she further helped distinguish the University's name.
As a member of the teaching faculty at SUU, Dr. Berg taught virtually every class offered by the SUU Physical Education Department during her tenure. She also served as department chair for the PE Department for many years.
